One is the pipe that heats your house — distributed by CenterPoint Energy and regulated by the state's Railroad Commission, not the city. The other is the web of pipelines, storage, and processing tied to the Ship Channel plants, which shapes the town's industrial base and its safety planning. Your gas bill and the fenceline pipeline network are governed by entirely different people.

This page keeps those two apart: residential service — who delivers it, who regulates it, where to report a leak — and the industrial gas infrastructure, who runs it and who plans for the risk it carries. Every figure we put on the page names its source; where a number can't carry one, it stays off.
