Farms in Deer Park
The plain version
Deer Park is a refinery-and-rooftops town, not farm country — there is very little working agricultural land inside the city limits. But food and land still move through decisions a resident can see: how the appraisal district values open land, how the region feeds itself, and what happens to the farmland just past the edge of town. This page treats "farms" as the food-and-land question a Deer Park resident can honestly ask, not a farm economy the town doesn't have.
Rather than invent local agriculture, this page gathers the real picture — how much farmland the appraisal district actually records, where the nearest working farms and markets are, and who governs land use at the edges. Where we cite a figure, we name its source; where we can't, we leave it out and say so.
